Lipstick Theatre is Northwestern's only theatre group dedicated to tackling women's issues through performance and providing woman theatre artists of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, abilities, birth sex assignments, and backgrounds with opportunities for artistic growth and expression.
The objectives of Lipstick Theatre are:
to produce dramatic works that address women’s issues, are written by women, portray fully realized female characters, and contain a largely women-lead ensemble,
to uplift our women collaborators and audiences by providing increased and enhanced artistic opportunities, facilitating more equitable theatre practices, and creating spaces for community health, healing, and empowerment.
to heighten and expand conversations relating to the multiple womanhoods contained on Northwestern’s campus and beyond.
